Trip report: SQ856 SIN-HK A380 Suites

As this is our 3rd time in Suites, I'l leave out the photos of the seat and the cabin. You can see them here
Offered drinks on board once we are seated. I ordered a Coke with lots of lemon.
The supervisor came to introduce himself to us which I think was a nice touch
Pictures of the menu. This is the brunch menu which means no satay! The wife was so sad.
We told the stewardress that we will eat at 11 am as we are still full from breakfast at the TPR.
Watch Thor 2 while my wife watched Frozen.
 Soon, it's time for brunch.
Darjeeling Tea
Fruit platter to start off. Sorry, forgot to take a picture of the cereal.
For entree, I ordered BTC wagyu sirloin. It was phenomenal. Best, most tender piece of meat I ever ate.
The wife BTC as well. Confit of Duck with Risotto rice
It was a bit dry for her.
For dessert, I had the butter cherry parfait with stewed cherry. It was good
My wife had the Chendol with coconut ice cream. Not bad either.

We reached HK at about 1pm , 20 minutes ahead of time. It was a good flight with good food! This being our second time in Suites, we were delighted by the experience. So sad, we will be returning to SG via J Class.

Lounge Review: The Private Room Changi Airport Terminal 3

Very fortunate to be able to book another trip in Suites, this time to Hong Kong on SQ856. As this is a morning flight(9.30am), my wife and I checked in at the First Class Check-in Area at T3. This time we are travelling with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. They are travelling on the same flight with their newborn in Economy Class. As Suites Class passengers, we get to invite the 2 of them to the First Class lounge in Silverkris Lounge while we had breakfast in the Private Room.

First Class Check in! I'll never tire of this.
The Breakfast menu which is til 12 pm.
 Earl Grey Tea

 Eggs Benedict
 Dim Sum
The wife ordered fresh egss with bacon and sausages. Which took ages to come and didn't taste that nice.
Dessert from the bar
Cranberry juice. My favourite
Cold Cuts
French Toast. Average.
Ipoh Hor Fun. Bland
We then went over to the FCL to join the BIL and SIL. Turns out the food there is better!
Great Thosai, seafood kway tiao.
Freshly made pancakes and waffles. I ordered pancakes and added some B&J ice cream from the fridge. Oh yeah!

We spent about 1 hour in the TPR and FCL. It was busy but not too crowded. We also arranged a buggy service to take us from the Silverkris lounge to our gate. Now that's first class!
Due to the limited offerings at the TPR, I preferred the FCL this time round for their self service food and generally better and more varieties of food.

Lounge Review: Hugo Junkers Lounge and Wow Air

Finally found some time for a small report on my trip to Berlin. I visited Berlin during christmas period with my wife. We were departing from Berlin Schonfeld Airport on Wow Air to Reykjavik, Iceland.
Schonfeld is a small airport that is soon to be replaced by the newer Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
It is very busy however when we visited, due to the large number of budget flights using the airport as a regional base.
Look out for the sign pointing to the lounge once you are past customs check.

The entrance is tough to find, plus one have to come out to use the washroom
We used our PP to gain access. 2 free visits a year!
 Some simple beverages and nuts

The seating is not much but there were only 4 people inside the lounge including us. Wifi speed is average. Great views of the tarmac

We left the lounge and boarded the flight. Wow air is recently acquired airline whose crew dresses up like the good old days of flying in 1970s
Predictably Seats are quite cramped but fortunately we are asians so it was less of a squeeze for us.

The flight was uneventful. The Overhead IFE showed Ice age 2 in german. We fell asleep and woke up to find Iceland to our left! What a desolate and beautiful landscape!
